Facilities at Hexham Tennis Club
Hexham Tennis Club has 6 artificial grass, all-weather courts.
3 of the all weather courts are floodlit enabling play up to 10pm every day. Lighting is currently chargeable at £2.50 per half hour of play. Tokens are available from nominated members (to be found in club information on joining).
The courts are not pre-bookable but there is generally good availability.
After the clocks go forward in Spring we have a variety of organised sessions allocated for different play. Fun, social tennis is played on Tuesday evenings starting at 5.30pm and Saturday afternoons starting at 1.30pm (also played through the rest of the year starting at 2pm).
Mens’ team practice is Monday evenings from 6pm, and Ladies’ team practice is Thursday evenings from 5pm, from April through to September. Ladies’ morning is on a Friday from 10.00am, and primarily ladies doubles social tennis.
Juniors’ have play organised by coaches and are welcome to play at all other times too.
Overlooking the courts is our own Pavilion which was transformed inside with a modern refurbishment during 2013, including a kitchen and sitting area. Thanks are due to Sport England for their support through their Olympic Legacy Inspired Facilities Grant.
